Winn Road surface improvement works – scheduled 18th to 19th February 2019

Letter to residents from the Southampton Highways Partnership:

Dear Sir/Madam

Winn Road Surface Improvement Works

Balfour Beatty is working in partnership with Southampton City Council to manage the highways service across Southampton. As part of this, works have had to be programmed to improve the carriageway of Winn Road outside Bentley Court.

As part of these works, it is proposed to carry out some resurfacing and the work is scheduled to commence as follows:

Structural Patching and Road Markings: 18th – 19th February 2019

Working hours will be between 07:30hrs and 17:30hrs. The dates above are subject to change; however, we will endeavour to meet the proposed schedule. In addition to this letter, advanced warning signs erected on site will advise of any start dates closer to the time.

During the working hours Winn Road will be closed from Wickham House/Sandringham Court to Bentley Court/Hamilton Court, with access for emergency services being maintained if required to attend a nearby property and only limited access to residents. If you require vehicular access, our operatives will do their utmost to accommodate you, however, there may be a short delay or diversion to ensure vehicle movements can be carried out safely.

“No Waiting” cones may be placed in the working areas prior to the works and it would assist us greatly if you could kindly refrain from parking in these areas. If you usually park your car on the carriageway during the day, please ensure that the vehicle is moved during working hours, as any vehicles remaining on the carriageway may have to be removed in order to proceed with the work.

This is a noisy process and those properties close to the carriageway may experience some vibrations, together with flashing lights and reversing sirens. We would like to take this opportunity to apologise in advance for any inconvenience or disruption these essential works may cause. However, we are confident that any disturbance will be justified by the finished result, thank you in advance for your patience whilst the work is being carried out.

Should you have any queries or concerns about the works, please contact roadworks@southampton.gov.uk and if you experience any difficulties during the works or require assistance in getting to or from your property, please speak to the site foreman who will be happy to assist.

Please accept our apologies for the short notice of these works, however, we had availability in our programme and so these works were scheduled for completion.
