HRA News Bulletin – 8th September 2014

  • This is a note of the main items discussed at the HRA Committee on
    8th September 2014.
  •  

  • Jerry Gillen was now out of hospital and recovering at home.
  •  

  • Adrian Vinson was co-opted to take the lead on planning applications.
  •  

  • The Building Bridges social event with Southampton University Students Union planned for Friday 26th September has had to be postponed. A new date will be found and members advised accordingly.
  •  

  • The new Police Community Engagement Officer is Virginie Freval. Her email is virginie.freval@hampshire.pnn.police.uk. She is happy to be contacted by residents.
  •  

  • Work on the new website is continuing.
  •  

  • There was a brief discussion on the Common. Dates for working parties on the Little Common will be circulated shortly.
  •  

  • A number of current planning cases were reported. It was reported that the redevelopment of Highfield House Hotel might not now be going ahead. It was agreed that we should try to verify this. It was noted that the Hotel will be having a coffee morning in aid of cancer research on Friday 26th September.
  •  

  • Music City will be taking place in Guildhall Square and other venues on 4th and 5th October.
  •  

  • Both membership numbers and finances are healthy.
