MOTHERLOAD - Cargo Bike Film Screening

MOTHERLOAD – Cargo Bike Film Screening

Posted on behalf of Transition Southampton

MOTHERLOAD is a crowdsourced documentary about a new mother’s quest to understand the increasing isolation and disconnection of the digital age, its planetary impact, and how cargo bikes could be an antidote.

As part of Cycle September, Transition Southampton is proud to be showing MOTHERLOAD at October Books, Southampton. From a collaboration between Transition Southampton, Southampton Cargo Bikes and thanks to sponsorship from Southampton City Council, we are able to offer FREE tickets to this community screening!

Please arrive from 6.30pm for tea, coffee and light refreshments. You are welcome to bring your own food and drinks to share. The event will start at 7pm.

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

We encourage you to use public transport or to cycle to the event. There is a Critical Mass ride taking place on the same evening, starting from Guildhall Square at 6pm. Some riders will be going to the venue as a group. Bicyles can be brought into the venue for storage – however, very large cargo bikes may need to be parked outside and locked to the racks outside the shop.

First Southampton and Unilink run regular bus services along Portswood High Street – visit My Journey Southampton for more information.

What can I bring into the event?

There are no restrictions on bringing alcohol or food into the event, but please consider bringing your own cutlery and/or cups to reduce the amount of cleaning up at the end of the event. People who become intoxicated and disruptive will be asked to leave.

Is there a charge for tickets? What if I no longer can attend the event?

This event is FREE however we would appreciate a small donation of £3 per person. If you can no longer attend, we would appreciate if you could cancel your event via Eventbrite so that someone else can take your place.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

No you do not – we will have a register at the event and we will be ticking off names on the list.

Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn’t match the person who attends?

As long as it matches a name on our list, you can still attend.

How can I contact the organiser with any questions?

You can visit Transition Southampton’s website or Southampton Cargo Bikes to find out more. Alternatively you can contact Ruth Magennis, Cycling Development Officer by emailing if your enquiry is urgent.
