History of Highfield:   http://highfieldhistory.co.uk/

This site will never be completed as there will always be something more to add. Currently, the focus is on Highfield Church (officially Christ Church, Portswood) and Highfield CofE School. However, if you see there is something mentioned and a link doesn’t work or there is information missing, don’t hesitate to get in touch. Additionally, if you have information you would like to add – they would love to hear from you.

Southampton Commons and Parks Protection Society (SCAPPS): http://www.scapps.org.uk/

SCAPPS was founded shortly after the National Commons Preservation Society’s fight in the 1860s against enclosures of common land in the London area.  SCAPPS has similar aims, which are to protect Southampton’s Commons and Parks from damage and encroachment.  The Society brings together a cross section of citizens committed to the well-being of the City’s green public spaces.  They are regularly consulted on, and respond to local planning applications affecting Southampton green spaces.  They liaise with the other local amenity societies over mutual interest.
