Every two minutes someone in the UK is told they have cancer. \nTake part and run\, walk or dance the route or do your bit by sponsoring someone you know. \nIn 2015 Cancer Research want more women\, raising more money for more triumphs against cancer. Take part for you\, for a loved one\, for everyone affected by cancer.\n5k is a great distance for all abilities OR Take on a bigger 10k challenge.\nRace For Life is the UK’s largest women only fundraising events\, where women come together to raise money to help Cancer Research UK beat cancer. \nHave a great day out with your family and friends and help more people beat cancer. \nWho can enter?\nThe race is open to women and girls of all ages and involves walking\, jogging or running around a five kilometre course or a ten kilometre on Southampton Common. \nHow much does it cost to enter?\n£14.99 per adult (16 and over on Race Day)\n£10.00 per child (6 to 15 on Race Day)\nFree entry and no registration for children (boys & girls) aged 6 and under on Race Day\nThis covers the cost of organising and running your event on the day. It does not contribute towards fundraising. Our events can’t take place without the hundreds of people who give up their time for a few hours to set up the courses and get everyone in the Race for Life mood. Find out more and register to be a volunteer. \nVenue and Start time\nThe event will take place on Southampton Common.\nThe 10k will start at 9:00am.\nThe 5k will start at 11:30am.\nIt is advisable to arrive at least one hour earlier to enable you to participate in the warm ups. \nThe Southampton route takes you along the tree lined paths of The Common and down The Avenue\, which is partially closed especially for this event. The surface is flat and on tarmac throughout. Dogs are welcome at this event\nThe meeting point is Southampton Common\, opposite the playground.\nDon’t forget to invite your friends and family to support you on the day. There will be catering concessions available. \nParking\nThere will be no parking on Southampton Common. Please use city centre car parks and allow extra time to walk to the event.
