At a comfortable pace\, and possibly with some modest hills along the way\, rides take place on mainly quiet roads with plenty of sights along the way. Rides are between 6 and 20 miles long\, at a moderate pace of between 7 and 10 miles an hour. \nThis 11.4 mile loop starts at Southampton Common\, heading north on quiet roads to the Forestry Commission site at Lordswood along a Roman Road route\, discovering Iron Age earthworks. There’s plenty to see along the way\, including the Hawthorns Urban Wildlife Centre on the Common\, the Warrior’s Memorial dedicated to a horse who served in the First World War.
