General advice: always report domestic violence to the Police, phone 999

An issue had arisen on one of our representative’s street; a potential serious domestic was witnessed twice in the middle of the night. Lots of details, including names of parties and offences, witnessed.
The advice from someone who knows the family was to not call the police and to let the families deal with it. This is dangerous advice. Unfortunately, DV serious violence and death is very very common and is the most common way to be killed.
If you hear or see something call 999.
If you decide not to and the next day feel it should be reported then 101 or online (would recommend online).
Domestic violence will affect 1 in 4 women and 1 in 6 men in their lifetime. Leads to, on average, two women being murdered each week and 30 men per year.
