Hampshire and IOW Wildlife Trust’s ‘Waste of Space’ Appeal

The appeal is to help identify the unloved scraps of land in towns and cities that could do much more for people and nature. They would like residents to get involved and identify local areas that could be transformed into green, cleaner spaces.

The Wildlife Trust is asking local people to map the ‘wasted space’ in their communities and to find creative ways to make space for nature within it. This could include tall buildings with the potential to have bird boxes; paved over surfaces which could be filled with colourful planters; or a space which simply needs a litter pick or a place to sit in order to transform it.
