John Savage is a Learning Technologist with ILIaD, embedded in Health Sciences, working to continue the development of Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) in that faculty. He has been working on the development of technology to enhance learning since the early 1990’s while working as a Media and Film lecturer in FE. He is an experienced film maker but has also been working with different Virtual Learning Environments (VLE’s) at an institutional level for about 15 years, most recently at Southampton City College. His interests include VLE benchmarking, the use of eportfolios for employability and fully integrated student tracking systems. For John, it is all about the student experience and how we need to work to remove the barriers ( to streamline the way ) to a great experience and improved lifelong learning.
