Playground update from Friends of Portswood Rec

We recently heard back from our Veolia grant bid and, unfortunately, we were not successful in securing the large grant that would allow us to replace the two pieces of play equipment that were removed last year. We have worked hard – with some incredible support from the community – to meet our seed funding target so it was a real disappointment to hear this news.

However, we remain dedicated to pursuing other grants and we want to reassure the community that we are beavering away behind the scenes to ensure that we can get the play area back to its best. It will just take more time to happen. All the money fundraised is ring fenced to be used towards the equipment and we can apply for new grants in a strong position because of our seed funding so far and the clear evidence of strong community support.
