Why Join?

Please note: we are currently updating our membership forms and payment procedures. In the mean time, new members can only pay by cheque or cash using the membership form below. Existing members are currently contacted in the normal way by the Membership Secretary should they wish to renew their membership.

The website will be updated just as soon as the above procedures have been changed.

Why Join?

It costs £5 a year per household to become a member of HRA and this includes one HRA membership card.  Additional membership cards are £3 each.  Membership runs for 12 months from the month of joining.  Once you have become a member, annual renewal reminders will be sent to you.  You can pay by Direct Bank Transfer (this is currently not available), by cheque or in cash.

10 good reasons for joining!

  1. HRA always welcome new members
  2. Become part of an inclusive community which aims to enhance, protect and preserve the local environment for the good of all
  3. HRA is the largest Residents’ Association in Southampton and is a substantial pressure group for change
  4. We represent members’ interests and campaign on local issues
  5. We monitor local planning and licensing applications, objecting to those that are inappropriate and unlawful, supporting those that add value to the community
  6. We liaise widely with local residents’ associations and nationally through the National Organisation of Residents’ Associations (NORA)
  7. We run a dynamic social media presence including a Crime Information Sharing WhatsApp Group for Highfield, working with local area groups to report crimes and raise awareness
  8. Members can access discounts with many local cafes, restaurants and other businesses
  9. Become an active member of your community and give yourself an additional voice in local affairs
  10. With membership only £5 a year per household, HRA is exceptional value!
