The Community Partnership Information form (CPI): for reporting suspicious incidents and intelligence

Report by Manager of HRA Crime information sharing WhatsApp Group for Highfield:

At the HRA Committee Meeting on 9 January 2024, Cllr John Savage flagged up the Community Partnership Information form (CPI), see link below:

https://www.safe4me.co.uk/portfolio/sharing-information/

This can be used for reporting intelligence and suspicious incidents to the police, where an incident is witnessed but may not necessarily be considered a crime, eg strangers lurking in a garden. The reporting form we use is not necessarily designed for this.

We understand that the CPI form goes via a different reporting route and is uploaded by the ‘Investigations Team’ into their database. It is a downloadable Word document which, once completed, should be emailed to the email address provided.

I have tried out the form and it is simple to use. The one downside is that you don’t appear to receive an acknowledgement or reference number. It could be that this is because there is no crime? However, using the form I was able to notify the police of a suspicious incident in Boots Portswood recently, where I saw a man who might possibly have intended to shoplift but I did not actually see him committing a crime. I did notify one of the shop assistants who said he would check their CCTV camera.
