Please be advised that a further planned protest is expected to take place outside the Highfield House Hotel this afternoon from approximately 1700 hours.
There will be a visible police presence in the area to ensure public safety, minimise disruption to local community and facilitate the protest in a lawful peaceful manner.
As always we are committed to balancing the right to protest with the need to maintain order and protect the rights of others, including residents, business and the wider community.
We continue to monitor the situation closely and remain in contact with organisers and relevant key stakeholders.
I will endeavour to provide an update next week following the demonstration.
We urge the community and our partners to report any ongoing concerns or incidents of note so they can be appropriately addressed.
