Southampton, if you’re giving your Christmas box a pre-festive sort-out, here’s what to do with decorations you no longer want…
Pass the festive joy on! Donate them to a charity shop or organise a little decoration-swap with friends or neighbours. One person’s “not quite my vibe anymore” is another person’s perfect tree topper.
These need to go in your general waste bin… Most decorations can’t be recycled.
If the decoration contains batteries or electrical bits (think light-up ornaments), those shouldn’t go in the bin. Take them to a recycling point instead. Find your nearest one here: https://soton.cc/recycleyourelectricals
A tiny bit of sorting now means a cleaner, greener Christmas for the whole city.
