Community Objection Walk against University plans to build 400+ student accommodation rooms in large blocks at the Avenue Campus: 1pm Wednesday 21 January
Posted by Highfield Residents' Association on Jan 18, 2026 in News | 0 commentsThe University plans to build 400+ student accommodation rooms in large blocks on the green space and car park surrounding the teaching blocks at the Avenue Campus.
Revised plans for PBSA Avenue Campus are here: https://uos.your-feedback.co.uk/
The plans have not yet been submitted to the Planning Authority. There is a demonstration of community disapproval before this formal step is taken to communicate the widespread community opposition for any additional building at Avenue Campus.
This Community Objection Walk has been organised for 1pm on Wednesday 21 January. Meet at the Avenue Campus and then walk to Building 37 at the University (opposite the Jubilee Sports Complex) which is the George Thomas Administrative Centre. A Ward Councillor letter will then be handed in.
Can you support this objection before the planning application is made? Numbers will count. The press will be invited.
