Understanding Dysphasia and Modified Diets

The Wickets Care Home, Banister Road, SO15 2EN (opposite Lidl) invite you to a talk on

Understanding Dysphasia and Modified Diets on Tuesday 24th February 2026, from 2pm.

In this interactive workshop learn how to support those living with swallowing difficulties (dysphagia) to continue to live well. Care UK specialist Dan Phillpott will also be on hand with a chance to sample modified twists on classic dishes and ask questions. Singing By Heart

4th Monday of the month at Hedge End Salvation Army, White’s Way, SO30 2GL.   11.00-12.45 with light refreshments after.

Singing by Heart is an hour session singing a mixture of Christian songs and well-known secular songs that people with dementia will know and be able to interact with. It includes a Bible verse before each song and one line prayer after each song and ends each session with The Lord’s Prayer. Contact lynne.sillence@gmail.com or 07974 372207

Sholing Memory Café

1-3pm,  4th Monday of each month.  This week bring along a baby photo and/or your favourite photo as we reminisce or just enjoy a cuppa and chat. For more information contact  Sarah Cole.

For all those living with dementia, come along for a free cuppa and chat. The local Community Wellbeing Hub will also be meeting in the Hub with Social Prescribers and NHS Team, amongst others, available for you to chat with. For more information contact Nazima.

Meets weekly for Coffee, Cake and Connect with the 2nd & 4th Thurs of the month being particularly dementia friendly. This  week we’ll enjoy singing some well known songs. For more information contact Caraway.

Omega Café:  Drop in anytime from 10 until 12. Free tea, coffee, cake, and chat.

Armchair exercise: Starts at 10am for about 25 minutes. Led by a qualified instructor; light exercise whilst still sitting! Donations welcome.

Community Lunch: At Midday. Food varies between jacket potatoes, ploughman’s, quiche, soup, breakfast rolls and pizza to name a few. Donations welcome.

Southampton Park Walk

Meet @ the Hawthorns Café, SO15 7NN, Southampton Common at 9am.  The meet point is by the start of park run between 2 oak trees close to Hawthorns but not outside it, look for the steward in high vis jacket labelled “Park Walker”. All Welcome!
