Southampton Demonstrations: Key individual networks (KINS) update from A/Inspector Richards, Southampton North Neighbourhood Policing Team – Monday 9th March 2026
Posted by Highfield Residents' Association on Mar 9, 2026 in News | 0 comments“Dear Kins,
I wanted to provide you with an update following the demonstration involving both protestors and counter‑protestors on Friday 6th March 2026 outside the Highfield House Hotel.
Police resources were in place to monitor and manage the event, ensuring all attendees were able to exercise their lawful right to protest. I’m pleased to confirm the demonstration concluded without concern. No arrests were made, and no additional policing powers were required.
Our approach remains focused on balancing the right to peaceful protest with the need to protect and support residents, businesses, and the wider community. We recognise that demonstrations can cause concern for those living or working nearby, and we remain committed to maintaining a visible presence and offering reassurance to ensure the community continues to feel safe.
