Southampton Demonstrations: Key individual networks (KINS) update from A/Inspector Richards, Southampton North Neighbourhood Policing Team – Monday 23 March 2026

“Dear Kins.

I am writing to update you regarding the ongoing protest activity outside Highfield House Hotel on Friday 20th March 2026, involving attendance from both a protest group and a counter‑protest group.

The event commenced at 1800 hours and concluded at approximately 1930 hours. The protest passed without concern, with no arrests, no disorder, and no dispersal powers required.

We will continue to monitor these events closely and act proportionately to maintain both public order and the rights of individuals to protest. Where the legal threshold is met to impose conditions or take enforcement action, these powers will be used appropriately.

A police presence remained until all groups had fully dispersed.
