Posted by Highfield Residents' Association on May 16, 2026 in News | 0 commentsInformation from Councillor Lori Foster:
“From 25 May 2026, Clancy will begin installing new high-voltage electricity cables within the carriageway at the Junction of St Denys Road on Thomas Lewis Way. Works will start at the north of St Denys Junction and continue across to the south.
To install the Road Closure, a full overnight closure of Thomas Lewis Way will be required for one night on 25 May 2026, from 20.00 to 06.00. By carrying out this work overnight, we aim to minimise disruption during peak travel hours.
The remainder of the work will take place during the day, and we expect it to be completed by July 2026.
| Works Date | |
| St Denys Road Closure (Thomas Lewis Way to Belmont Road) | 25th May – 7th June |
| Thomas Lewis Way Full Closure (St Denys Road to Bevois Hill) | 7th June (20:00-06:00) |
| Contraflow Phase 2 | 8th June – 31st July |
| Thomas Lewis Way Full Closure (Removal of Contraflow) | 31st July (20:00-06:00) |
In terms of mitigations, Belmont Rd will be marked as resident access only to reduce rat running. I will be keeping an eye on Brookvale in case the effects of the road closure spill out. The temporary traffic lights used will be monitored to ensure best traffic flow and monitored remotely.”
