Details of forthcoming works along Thomas Lewis Way – St Deny’s Junction from SSEN (see details below). Info courtesy of Cllr Savage and also Cllr Foster

In terms of mitigations, Cllr Foster says that: “Belmont Rd will be marked as resident access only to reduce rat running. The temporary traffic lights used will be monitored to ensure best traffic flow and monitored remotely.”

Informaton from SSEN:
“From 25 May 2026, Clancy will begin installing new high-voltage electricity cables within the carriageway at the Junction of St Deny’s on Thomas Lewis Way. Works will start at the north of St Deny’s Junction and continue across to the south.
To ensure the safety of both our teams and road users, a road closure of the north bound lanes will be in place throughout the works this will include temporary traffic light on a section of Thomas Lewis Way. This will help reduce disruption and keep traffic moving wherever possible.
In addition, we will be working in sections of approximately 100 metres at a time to minimise the impact on road users.
To install the Road Closure, a full overnight closure of Thomas Lewis Way will be required for one night on 25 May 2026, from 20.00 to 06.00. By carrying out this work overnight, we aim to minimise disruption during peak travel hours.
The remainder of the work will take place during the day, and we expect it to be completed by July 2026.

Working hours for the construction will be carried out between 08:00 and 18:00.
