As the New Year is under way and our cafés resume their usual pattern we hope to see you soon. Our Course for Carers starts on 20th January so this is the last week for you to join this course so do contact us for more information.

SO EnergyWise by Testland Hub, a charity that gives free advice to save energy and keep warm.
Nyron is visiting all the memory cafes over the next 2 months to advise people.
To gain advice… Join their online energy advice platform at fairerwarmth.com/southampton and they will contact you to book a home assessment. An expert will visit your home and assess it. You will receive a plan on how to make your home warmer and cheaper to heat.

Singing By Heart
Hedge End Salvation Army, White’s Way, SO30 2GL.
11.00-12.45 with light lunch after.
Singing by Heart is an hour session singing a mixture of Christian songs and well-known secular songs that people with dementia will know and be able to interact with. Usually on the 2nd Tuesday of the month 5.45pm for a three course meal at 6pm prompt. You need to book by the previous Sunday (12th January) signing Menu on Café or Car Park notice boards or ring Liz on 07789 501249 by that Sunday to check and book a place. Donations only for meal that is followed by a brief devotion including a hymn.

Omega Café: Drop in anytime from 10 until 12. Free tea, coffee, cake, and chat.
Armchair exercise: Starts at 10am for about 25 minutes. Led by a qualified instructor; light exercise whilst still sitting! Donations welcome.
Community Lunch: At Midday. Food varies between jacket potatoes, ploughman’s, quiche, soup, breakfast rolls and pizza to name a few. Donations welcome.

Southampton Park Walk
Meet @ the Hawthorns Café, SO15 7NN, Southampton Common at 9am. The meet point is by the start of park run between 2 oak trees close to Hawthorns but not outside it, look for the steward in high vis jacket labelled “Park Walker”. All Welcome! For a gentle 5km walk around the Common, many go to Hawthorns Café for a coffee and chat after.

Visit the Pavilion in the Park at 1, Kingfisher Road, Eastleigh SO50 9LH for a bespoke cycling experience. Choose from a range of bikes including wheelchair accessible bikes, recumbents and power assisted bikes and explore the Dragonfly Trails around the beautiful parkland of Fleming Park. Cost from £5.
