“We live in an age of demagogues, populism, rampant bombardment by the media. How do we, ordinary mortals, distinguish fact from fiction? How do we know when we are being manipulated? Chris Brown is Professor of Education at Southampton and Distinguished Visiting Professor at University of Tubingen. He has published widely in this field. His talk looks at how society might intervene to help individuals “critically evaluate and embrace positive ideas while rejecting those that might be detrimental to themselves and others”
