Two reports of street drinkers in Portswood Broadway, reported to 101, Friday 17/4/26

On Friday 17/4, reported to 101 that 3-4 street drinkers with open cans of what looked like alcohol were outside the former Roebridge Farm Shop, next door to former Flagship Coffee, and there were also some ‘stray’ chairs, at around 10.30/11am. This was a violation of the Public Spaces Protection Order in Portswood Broadway and they should not be drinking in Portswood High Street. Inspector Richards had urged people to report these incidents to 101. Also mentioned that this was a daily occurrence and that another member of HRA had reported the same incident this morning at around 9am. The police person responded that this would be recorded in the system and also copied to Community Safety, the latter because it was ASB.
Experience of telephoning 101 was okay. After the initial ‘introductions’ and ‘options’, informed there would be a five minute wait. After no more than 2 minutes, the call was taken and dealt with well.
