Southampton Common Play Area is officially back open! 
The much-loved play area has been given a major refresh, with brand-new play equipment, swings, improved sand play areas and upgraded water play features ready for children to enjoy.
After some unexpected groundwork challenges delayed the project, the final safety checks are complete and the gates are open once again.
So go on… SWING by this weekend, get stuck into some sandcastle engineering, and let the kids put the new facilities through their paces! 
Thanks to everyone for your patience while we completed the improvements. We can’t wait to see families enjoying the new-look play area.
