Mayfield Nursery – Walking Group:  Mayfield Nursery, Weston Lane, Weston SO19 9HL, from 10am at Mayfield Nurseries Entrance. Feel the benefit of the outdoors and connecting with nature in a supportive environment.

Mayfield Nursery – Gardening for Dementia:  Mayfield Nursery, Weston Lane, Weston SO19 9HL, from 1-3pm. Where we will be working at Mayfield nurseries ‘hands on’ with plants. Feel the benefit of the outdoors and connecting with nature in a supportive environment.

Tuesday 02 April
St Denys Memory Café:  St Denys Church & Centre, St Denys Road, SO17 2ND, from 2-4pm, from 2-4pm. Please do join the Team for Chit Chat, Craft and Games.

Thornhill Memory Café:  Medwall Court, Tatwin Close, Thornhill, SO19 6JS, from 2-4pm.  Time for a Cuppa with a fundraising raffle,hosted by the Admiral Nurse Team.

 

Music for the Mind – Vocal & Instrumental:  Planet Sounds (opposite the Co-op), 40 Terminus Terrace, SO14 3FE. Music Leaders are Katy Hooper and Hayley McDonnell will explore mindfulness, meditation techniques through singing inspired by sounds and rhythms from around the world. SoCo Music Project presents a free fun and social Music-Making Session for all abilities.  Places are limited for more details, please email mark@socomusicproject.org.uk.

Wednesday 03 April
Lordswood Memory Café:  King’s Church Centre, 414 Coxford Rd, SO16 5LL, from 2-4pm.  Join us this week for an art workshop based on the MAST Performance “On the Beach”.  All are welcome whether diagnosed or not, do come along and meet with others going through similar experiences over tea, coffee, cake and friendship.

Weston Memory Cafe: Hope Centre , Kings Community Church, Weston, SO19 9JN, from 2-4pm. Hosted by Sian and the Nurseplus Team, all are welcome whether diagnosed or not, do come along and meet with others going through similar experiences over tea, coffee, cake and friendship.

Wednesdays @ Holy Saviour Bitterne:  Holy Saviour Church, Bursledon Road, SO19 7LW.

  • Omega Café:  Drop in anytime from 10 until 12. Free tea, coffee, cake, and chat.
  • Armchair exercise:  Starts at 10am for about 25 minutes. Led by a qualified instructor; light exercise whilst still sitting! Donations welcome.
  • Omega Lunch: At Midday. Normally soup & roll but on the 2nd Wednesday of the month something a bit more like a soup, ploughman’s or jacket potato. Donations welcome.

Dementia and carer support drop in @ Speedwell Court:  Speedwell Court, Mansbridge Road, West End, SO18 3HW, from 2-3.30pm.  A dementia friendly drop-in group for carers of people with dementia. Join us for coffee & biscuits, receive advice & support from Jacquie & Sandy Dementia Advisors from Andover Mind

 

Health Walks in Southampton, Riverside Park Walk:  Meeting at 12 noon by the noticeboard at Bitterne Park Triangle.  Join “Sustrans Health Walk Volunteers” for a gentle, lunchtime walk-and-talk of up to a mile in Riverside Park.  This is a walk for adults pursuing good physical and mental health through walking together.  New people should arrive 10 minutes before the start to meet the Leader and register.

Meeting Place @ October Books:  October Books, Portswood High Street, SO17 2NF, between 2.30pm to 4.30pm.  This is an intergenerational community drop in event, with painting, puzzles, board games and cream tea!

Mayflower Court – Community Coffee Morning:  62 – 70 Westwood Road, Southampton, SO17 1DP, from 11am-12pm.

Thursday 04 April
Coffee, Cake Connect:     Lordshill Church, Lordshill District Centre SO16 8HY, from 1.30-3pm.

MHA Singing for Wellbeing @ Hebron Court:  Hebron Court, 46 Rollesbrook Gardens, Southampton SO15 5WB, from 11am – 12.

Fish and Chip Friday @ Mayflower Court:  62-70 Westwood Road, Southampton, SO17 1DP, Every Friday from 12pm. Join us for Homemade Fish and Chips lunchtime for elderly members of the community who would otherwise be eating on their own.  Spaces are limited so booking is essential, please book by Wednesday lunchtime.  To reserve your place or for more information please call Mayflower Court on 02380 670200.

Saturday 06 April
Southampton Park Walk:  Meet @ the Hawthorns Café, SO15 7NN.  Meeting at the café on Southampton Common at 9am.  The meet point is by the start of park run between 2 oak trees close to hawthorns but not outside it, look for the steward in high vis jackets labelled “Park Walker”. All Welcome! For a gentle 5km walk around the Common, many go to Hawthorns Café for a coffee and chat after.
