A busy few days for our Caraway Team with the Ageing Well Fayre last Saturday and our annual gathering on Monday and the Memory Cafes – we love meeting you at all these occasions. Sholing cafe will be meeting a week earlier than usual due to the Bank Holiday and Andy will be visiting them to share more of Southampton’s history. A reminder that ageuk in Southampton have many resources to help those living with dementia. Information on their Padwell Road Day Centre, and benefits advice:
Age UK Southampton offers free and comprehensive information on a wide range of subjects affecting older people – from Pension Credit to care packages. They say “We can help you identify the problem, explain the choices available and help you decide what you want to do. We may be able to provide individual support if you need further help to resolve the problem.” Do check out their website for more information.

Singing By Heart
3rd Monday of the month at Moorhill Care Home, Moorhill Road, West End, SO30 3AZ.
11.00-12.45 with lunch after. School term time only.
Singing by Heart is an hour session singing a mixture of Christian songs and well-known secular songs that people with dementia will know and be able to interact with. More information from lynne.sillence@gmail.com or 07974 372207
Sholing Memory Café
Meeting earlier than usual this month due to the Bank Holiday next week. Salvation Army Church, 93 North East Road, Sholing, SO19 8AF.
1-3pm, Andy from the City Council will be joining us to share in some of the history of Southampton, this time focusing on the World War II period. For more information contact Sarah Cole.
Shirley Memory Café
Make & Brew Café, St James Road, SO15 5HE
From 2-4pm, 3rd Monday each month. Come along to enjoy some tea and cake with others living with dementia. This week Sally Ann will be here to talk about risk factors and how to deal with someone who falls. More information from Liz.
Townhill Park Memory Café
Townhill Farm Community Centre, Wessex Road, Townhill Park, SO18 3RA.
1-3pm, meets the 3rd Monday of the month. You’ll always be sure of a warm welcome. A chance to relax and chatter with other attendees while having a tea, coffee, cold drink. May flowers and spring gardens are the theme this month. Green fingers not required! More information from Jo Frost.
