From SCC Library News and Events: Portswood Library – Temporary closure for improvement works
Posted by Highfield Residents' Association on Oct 13, 2026 in News | 0 comments“Portswood Library will be closing for three weeks from Monday 2 November 2026 for building improvements and significant decorative works. Your improved library will then reopen at 10am on Monday 23 November 2026.
The closest alternative libraries are the Community-operated Cobbett and Burgess Road, with Central and Bitterne also nearby.
A reminder that your library membership allows you to use any Southampton City Library and that you can also access the Digital Library https://www.southampton.gov.uk/libraries/digital-library/… , where you’ll find an extensive collection of eBooks and eAudiobooks.
Recent loans will have an extended return date to cover the closure. You can also return items to any other Southampton City Library.
We apologise for any inconvenience this closure may cause.”
