Highfield Community Speedwatch

The Highfield Residents’ Association Community Speedwatch has been officially registered. There are nine volunteers so far and 5 are awaiting Speedwatch training. If anyone else would still like to take part, then please contact our Honorary Secretary: hra.honsec@gmail.com

The principle aim is safety on our roads which will include Highfield Lane, Church Lane and Brookvale Road, to be followed by Winn and Westwood Road in due course in order to cover the Highfield ATZ. HRA is funding the required kit which includes the speed gun and high viz jackets. We hope to be out on the street later this autumn.

Community Speedwatch groups monitor vehicle speeds and pass details of offending vehicles to the police, who can issue warning letters to drivers. The nationwide scheme is designed to encourage motorists to slow down and improve road safety in communities.
