HRA has received the messages below (and photo) from Chris Zardis, one of our Facebook followers, at 14:46 and then at 17:42 today (16/01/26). Thank you Chris:
“The underpass under The Avenue is flooded again”. “The Council have closed the underpass”.
While there isn’t a permanent solution, “Thanks to Cllr Savage it appears we now have a temporary pedestrian crossing over The Avenue whilst works are carried out on the drainage pump.”
Chris informed us just now at 18:08: “confirmation that the safe alternative crossing (temporary pedestrian crossing over the avenue) is being installed right now.”
