“Our Law students are acting as ‘McKenzie Friends’, supporting defendants in Southampton’s small claims court if they don’t have legal representation.
They can help via note taking, emotional support, explaining the process, and prompting the defendant.
A total of 17 of our students have signed up as McKenzie Friends, a national access to justice scheme.”
