There are lots of free, drop-in craft activities on offer in addition to regularly scheduled events. Please note, they ask that parents/guardians stay for the duration of the sessions.

As well as the Summer Reading Challenge 2025 – ‘Story Garden’, which runs until Saturday 30 August 2025, ‘Explore Learning’ returns – a Summer Reading Challenge themed workshop in Portswood Library this August!

“Designed for children aged 5 to 11, ‘The Hidden Glade’ is an enchanted story-writing adventure that ties in perfectly with this year’s ‘Story Garden’ theme. Explore Learning tutors will coach children to ‘plant’ the seeds of a great idea through a series of challenges and puzzles. By the end of the hour they will have created a magical story for a young book bee who needed their own unique story!”
