Monday 14 October
Hope Café: Holy Saviour Church, Bursledon Road, SO19 7LW, from 8.30 – 11.30am. Pop in for a cuppa & a piece of cake and chat. Free but donations appreciated.
MHA Lordshill Friendship group:  Lordshill Community Centre, Cromarty Rd, Lordshill, Southampton SO16 8LX, from 10am—12pm, costs £3
Singing By Heart: Hedge End Salvation Army, White’s Way SO30 2GL, from 11.00-12.00 with light refreshments after. Singing by Heart is an hour session singing a mixture of Christian songs and well-known secular songs that people with dementia will know and be able to interact with. It includes a Bible verse before each song and one line prayer after each song and ends each session with The Lord’s Prayer.Contact lynne.sillence@gmail.com or 07974 372207Sholing Memory Café:   1-3pm, St. Mary’s Church Hall, St. Monica’s Road, Sholing, SO19 8ES.
A warm welcome for all at this cafe for people living with dementia, their carers and friends, or for carers alone. The carers group will be running alongside this cafe.

Mayfield Nursery – Walking Group:  Mayfield Nursery, Weston Lane, Weston SO19 9HL, from 10am at Mayfield Nurseries Entrance. Feel the benefit of the outdoors and connecting with nature in a supportive environment.

Mayfield Nursery – Gardening for Dementia:  Mayfield Nursery, Weston Lane, Weston SO19 9HL, from 1-3pm. Where we will be working at Mayfield nurseries ‘hands on’ with plants. Feel the benefit of the outdoors and connecting with nature in a supportive environment.

Tuesday 15 October
St. Denys Memory Café  2-4pm, St Denys Church Centre, Dundee Road, Southampton, SO17 2ND.  Join us for crafts and activities along with the usual cuppa and cake and meet both new friends and old.
This week, singing with Louise Owens, and craft and games run by your lovely volunteers.Maybush Memory Café   2-4pm, Potters Court, 538 Wimpson Lane, Southampton, SO16 4JA. We have the Memory Box helping us remember our childhoods. There will be quizzes, puzzles and games on the subject. this week along with the usual refreshments, fun and activities.

KES@Avenue St Andrews:  Tuesdays during term time only 2.30-3.45pm URC, The Avenue, Southampton, S017 1XQ. KES 6th formers meet local residents and Communicare service users for cake and activities. FREE but voluntary donation of £3 to cover costs.

Thursday 17 October

Coffee and Cake:  St Denys Church, Dundee Road, St Denys, SO17 2ND, from 1.30-3pm.

 

The Haven Lunch Club:  St Mark’s Church, Archers Road, SO15 2LU, from 11am – 2.30pm. The Haven Lunch Club is a thriving gathering of all kinds of people who love to come together to share a delicious meal. As well as having lunch, snacks or a “cuppa” we come and spend time together and support each other through life. There’s always lots of chatting and laughter, we enjoy board games, (Bingo is the favourite!) and a variety of other activities. £5 for a 2 course lunch.

The Haven Team work with our partners at Communicare to widen the scope of what we can offer, but we’re always looking for new ideas. Communicare Volunteers help by providing transport if getting to St Mark’s is difficult. They often stay too, and are an important part of this social network.

Fish and Chip Friday @ Mayflower Court:  62-70 Westwood Road, Southampton, SO17 1DP.  Join us for Homemade Fish and Chips lunchtime for elderly members of the community who would otherwise be eating on their own from 12pm. Booking is essential, please book by Wednesday lunchtime.  To reserve your place or for more information please call Mayflower Court on 02380 670200.

Mayfield Nursery – Digital Drop-in:  Mayfield Nursery, Weston Lane, Weston SO19 9HL, from 1-3pm.  Perhaps you are struggling with a task, looking to try something new, or your gadgets are not behaving themselves?  Free Technical Advice and Assistance for phones, tablets and laptops, just drop in.  For more details phone 07966 474188.

Saturday 19 October
Southampton Park Walk:  Meet @ the Hawthorns Café, SO15 7NN.  Meeting at the café on Southampton Common at 9am.  The meet point is by the start of park run between 2 oak trees close to Hawthorns but not outside it, look for the steward in high vis jacket labelled “Park Walker”. All Welcome! For a gentle 5km walk around the Common, many go to Hawthorns Café for a coffee and chat after.
