The HRA@50 Photo Competition Results – the overall winner!

There were 6 categories. As well as monthly winning photographs for each category for April, May and June, the judge looked at the submissions as a whole and awarded an overall 1st, 2nd and 3rd.

The 1st, and overall winner, came under the category ‘Portswood Broadway’ and was entitled ‘Belmont Terrace now has no gardens’. See photo below!

The judge said “I like the pleasing diagonal of the road and buildings cutting across the blue sky. This is a positive image from an area that has its own set of troubles and it is enlivened by the figures and colour (the green motorbike and pink biker being well placed).”

All the winning photos were displayed at the Arts for Arts Sake event last Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 August. They will also be displayed at the HRA AGM in November!
