Thursday 20 February 2025: Portswood Broadway is closed southbound into the City between the junctions with Westridge Road and Brookvale Road because of an emergency water leak

There is a diversion for Southbound traffic, as requested by SCC Highways, via Saint Denys Road, Thomas Lewis Way and Lodge Road. SCC expect the work may take 3 days to complete.

Below are the emergency bus diversions due to Portswood Road closure

Please be aware of an emergency road closure on Portswood Road. The closure affects traffic heading towards the city only, and please keep up to date: https://soton.cc/bluestarserviceupdates
The following bus services will be diverted:
• Bluestar 2
• Bluestar 20
• UniLink U1C
• UniLink U6C
Buses will be diverted from The Mitre pub via St Deny’s Road and Thomas Lewis Way. Services will then continue to either Lodge Road or Bevois Hill towards the city. The U1C will follow the same diversion and return to Portswood to rejoin its normal route at Brookvale Road towards the city.
