Explore the world of human experience at this year’s Arts and Humanities Day.
Arts and Humanities Day (formerly know as Hands-on Humanities Day) is the University of Southampton’s family-friendly event offering an exciting programme of free interactive activities, workshops, talks, exhibitions, and live performances, suitable for all ages. From vibrant explorations into Cumbia dance and music, to adventuring through immersive virtual reality experiences, and constructing roman mosaic LEGO, there really is something for everyone to explore.
What’s new this year?
In addition to a new name and brand new look we’ll be joined by researchers, students, community groups and artists at our new location in the Southampton Cultural Quarter on Saturday 9th November, 10:30 – 16:30. Visitors will have the opportunity to discover how the arts and humanities enrich and influence our daily lives with over 40 activities taking place between Sir James Matthews Building, John Hansard Gallery, MAST Mayflower Studios and Southampton City Art Gallery. We’re also expanding our programme in collaboration with the Southampton ESRC Festival of Social Science, adding social science-focused activities, exhibitions, and talks.
Attendance for the day is free, but registration through Eventbrite is required. Due to the nature of some of our workshops, additional booking may also be required.
