The advice from the police is that members of the public should not intervene in case riders respond aggressively. All incidents should be reported to the police on 101 or online giving dates, times, locations and descriptions. Videos can be uploaded if reported online. We understand it is important that all incidents are reported as these reports will be included in the area statistics and would attract the necessary funding.
Only the Voi rental scooters are legal and there is a proper reporting system in place: use the online form or email: support@voiapp.io or call the 24-hour customer service helpline on 0808 501 5724.
All other e-scooters are unlawful and can only be used on private land. With these, police enforcement procedure is education for a first offence. If a second offence is committed, the e-scooter is seized and destroyed.
