Pedestrian near miss with two cyclists while crossing the 2nd part of the road from The Mitre to Sainsbury’s, Portswood

This incident occurred outsite the Portswood Broadway Bus-gate times:

1/3pm Saturday 15 February. A HRA member was with other pedestrians on the island half-way across to Sainsbury’s by The Mitre. The HRA member checked the traffic to the left and started across the 2nd half of the road. However, he was narrowly missed by a man and child on bikes coming from the right, who had cycled up the stationery outside lane from St Denys and then cut across the pedestrian crossing (complete with pedestrians) to cycle down the pavement outside Sainsbury’s.
