Rough sleepers have returned to outside the former Atlantic Cleaners / Farm Foods Shop – Portswood Ward Councillors’ Action

Reported again on 23/3/26. This is the third report.

Portswood Ward Councillors’ action:

Ongoing vigilance needed at the moment.

• Took place on am, 25/3/26 on Portswood Broadway: Cllr F reported more clearing of chairs, litter etc. PSPO info given out in English and Polish to people street drinking and street homeless team do know individuals sleeping rough and offer support, though not always accepted. They are going out twice more this week. Sending email to landlord of empty property which is part of new student development.

• Cllr B contacted Flude, who work with the owners of the site, and will chase. Visted site on pm, 24/3/26, still lots of rubbish, including beer barrels.

NB All the shops on the outside of Portswood Shopping Centre have now (from 26/3/26?) been boarded up with metal boards.
