On Tuesday 13 May, a HRA member reported that on Sunday night – 11 May 2025, a car drove into Highfield Road and ended up driving into the University of Southampton Avenue Campus ‘green area’. The police were called.

Burglary of house – Welbeck Avenue/Upper Shaftesbury Avenue

The burglary took place during the early hours of Saturday 10 May 2025, between 3 am to 7am. Laptop stolen and strimmer from car (unlocked). I reminder to lock all windows and doors and cars.

Took place on Friday 9 May 2025. Reported to the Police. It is thought the burglary was interrupted by another neighbour. Student neighbours have seen prowlers too.

Lone female frightened by drunk male – Portswood Bus Stop, opposite Waitrose

Took place on Wednesday 7th May: lone female at bus stop put in fear by a drunk male who ran up to the bus stop shouting unknown (slurred) words and thumping the bus stop. The female ran away.
