Portswood High Street is changing. As well as XIONGQI HOTPOT, a Chinese Restaurant ‘opening soon’ near to the Trago Lounge; in the previous location of the Halifax Bank, CHAIIWALA is now emerging (still in the early stages!). The Tidal Tape divides one from the other.
CHAIIWALA are adversting for store managers, kitchen staff, shift supervisors. A restaurant/food outlet? Anyone know?

Chaiwala is a café serving Indian food, particularly breakfast and lunch – they exist further north usually

After the fire, Fone Revive in Portswood appears to be undergoing an internal revamp. It looks as though it will be a while before they open again…

It would be great for the University to resurrect their property South Stoneham House! How many homeless people could benefit from the many rooms that have been empty for at least a decade… It also holds some wonderful provenance. Hopefully it’s next on their list 🙏
