Swiss Cottage in Portswood Road has been completely restored after the fire on 8 July 2022. See pictures!

On the night of Friday 8 July 2022, a fire ripped through 7Bone Restaurant in Portswood Road. The building was completely gutted and the entire roof collapsed. Swiss Cottage, a two storey, Grade II listed building dating back to the 19th century, which adjoined 7Bone Restaurant, suffered severe fire damage. The roof and the first floor were partly destroyed.

Less than 2 years later, Swiss Cottage has been completely restored and the building, which once housed 7Bone Restaurant, has been rebuilt. The pictures below were taken in April 2024 by Nadine.

The Daily Echo carried on article on 1 March 2023 revealing plans for the restoration of Swiss Cottage to be done on a  “like for like” basis to restore it to its former glory. You can read about this here:
