10 h  · Thatched Cottage between Gordon Avenue and Westwood Road,1941.Situated on the east side of the lane running between Westwood Road and Gordon Avenue, this cottage was originally part of the Westwood House estate. It was known as Cottage Farm, and supplied produce to the house. It was built before 1845, and may date back to the Stuart period. Sotonopedia says “It is now (2017) 16 Gordon Avenue”. Westwood House was built in the late 18th century and demolished in the late 19th century.
