Two incidents of anti-social behaviour – bus stop outside Waitrose, Portswood

Two incidents took place on two different occasions recently (week beginning 17 March 2025) which prevented the victim from using the bus stop and s/he had to walk to the next stop in Portswood Broadway: Drunks in the bus stop shelter shouting to other drunks who were sitting outside the old Iceland shop; Three men high on something; lots of arm waving. No police presence at Bus-gate protest on 22/3/25 – in Portswood Broadway

There was no police presence as before at the Protest March. As a consequence, it made it very difficult for people to cross the road to and from Waitrose with a fairly large crowd of people, push chairs and dogs. The person reporting asked the person in charge why there were no police to assist them as before. Apparently, the police were informed  of the date and time of the march.

A group of men with open cans/bottles – outside the old Iceland shop in Portswood Broadway

Seen on 21/3/25. Reported to the police online. Very intimidating. They appear to have set up ‘home’ there and it is not the first time they have been seen there. They have been spotted on at least 10 occasions. The open cans/bottles are in violation of the Public Spaces Protection Order.

Portswood Broadway Bus-gate (extract from E-News March 2025)

  HRA E-news March 2025 Live Traffic Data Brookvale Road You may have noticed a huge increase in the number of vehicles using Brookvale Road instead of Portswood Road during Bus-gate hours.
