Middle of the afternoon of Tuesday 14 July 2026: man urinating against a wall in full view near to the encampment in the former Portswood Shopping Centre

The residents says they no longer feel the place is pleasant to visit and they are less and less likely to want to visit the local shops (except for the two supermarkets), without some strong intervention to decrease the anti-social behaviour on Portswood High Street.

Good News! Re the break-in in Oakmount Triangle/Leigh Road on 25 June 2026 (recorded here on 27/6/26)

When the pane of glass was removed from the kitchen door, the police got a full DNA from some samples taken. The alleged perpetrator is now in custody and linked to several break-ins around Southampton – none of the others in Highfield apparently.
